I am a little bit obsessed with bunting banners and these by Lobster and Swan are my favorite to date! Look at all of the vintage gorgeousness layered on the top banner, and the stitching on the bottom blue one? Seriously, these are just perfection!

Thoughtful Day for Sunday Suppers

I am sure by now most of you have seen or heard about Sunday Suppers; the past couple of weeks tons of beautiful images have been floating around the internet which has been great! Karen Mordechai, one of the ladies behind Sunday Suppers just sent over these photos of all of the paper items I designed for the Moroccan supper. At the same event I also designed all of the patterns for Amy Atlas's dessert table so I decided to use the same custom designed mandala but compose it to better fit the tablescape and blend with the gorgeous moroccan tiles that were the centerpiece. The patterns were scaled to fit appropriately with each item, whether it was the belly band that surrounded the menu or the tags that hung on the lemon preserves. I just love the yellow of the lemons with the turquoise and gray of the favor tag. A great color combo! All of the menu and recipe cards had their own unique custom designed border that complimented the colorful patterns and mandala. It was such a fun project to work on with so much immense talent. So much work goes into one of these suppers and fortunately for all of us it is beautifully documented by Karen!

Sweetness Redefined

Lately my posts have been a bit few and far between, but I couldn't resist popping in really quick to post about the lovely cakes of the Caketress. Usually I am a fan of a simple cake with minimal color, but Lori Hutchinson's cakes are totally over the top in a truly amazing way! In the bottom photo, the flowers that appear to be stitched - no! Each thread was hand painted. Incredible.

Paper Cut Charm

Last week my husband sent me the paper cut illustrations of Helen Mussel White. They are just so precious and whimsical and delicate. What I love most about them is not only the beautiful hand cut shapes but the layering of her cute little illustrations. I would love to have a few of them lining my baby girl's wall!

Sunday Suppers !!!

The last couple of weeks I have had the amazing opportunity to collaborate with Sunday Suppers, the brainchild of the amazing and talented photographer Karen Mordechai & chef extraordinaire Casey Solomon. Along with designing the menus & other paper bits for Sunday Suppers (photos to follow) I was given the incredible opportunity to design some patterns for the brilliant Amy Atlas. The theme of the supper was Moroccan so we incorporated that same theme into Amy's dessert table. I designed the patterned backdrop as well some of the other paper elements on the table, which you will soon see. Amy had such a beautiful & clear vision that working with her was a dream. All of the details Amy envisions for her tables are so thoughtfully arranged & put together that her work is not only visually delicious but tasty too! Which leads me to Aran Goyoaga of the famed Cannelle et Vanille. Aran's desserts, if you can imagine, taste as delicious as they look. Which is hard to believe because everything she does looks and is a piece of art! The beautiful center cake was by Love Street Cakes, which was the perfect centerpiece. And last but not least the gorgeous flower treatments were by the lovely and talented Jessie from Rountree. Wait until you see her flowers on the dinner table !!! More pics to come throughout the next couple of days!

The dessert table truly was visually and tastefully delicious! And if you live in NYC or nearby - you should definitely attend one these Sunday Suppers, they are so much fun!

Sparkle Power

On Saturday we went to a 3 yr. olds birthday party and there was a sweet choo choo train theme and a pinata! I was thinking how cool would it be to have a pinata at one of our birthday parties? I have a feeling all of the adults would get pretty excited over one and I think that these pinatas from Confetti System would be not only awesome but gorgeous too! They would also be great at a casual outdoor wedding reception - I think all of the kids would be pretty stoked to get some pinata time at a wedding reception!
