Our Baby Shower

Yesterday Patrick and I were thrown an amazing baby shower at our apartment by our lovely friends Emily and Jenna! They did such an amazing job with decorations (color theme yellow of course!) and food, so I thought I would share some of their wonderful ideas. My favorites were the fabric banner, the flowers and the "make a wish" jar. They had some help in the food dept. by a couple of other friends, Libby and Regan. Regan's take on the traditional hostess cupcakes with some added baby flair were awesome! Being pregnant, I have had some weird cravings, so when asked what kind of food I wanted, I said meat and fruit. Odd, I know, but the girls went above and beyond!

I am taking a break this week from the blog, I have so many amazing personal and professional things going on and I need to focus. I look forward to sharing a few things with you in the near future, but until then, godspeed! xoxox

Girard

There are so many things that I have/need to buy for the baby. But what really gets me excited are the things that I want for the baby, like this Alexander Girard alphabet block set. Maybe a few years down the road I can justify a purchase like this, after all it is a learning tool designed by one of my favorite designers of all time, but right now I need to stay focused on the necessities!

A Precious Gift

I came across Mother Stork's Baby Book a while back and am really impressed by it's gorgeous illustrations and beautiful use of typography. What I love most about it is that it isn't too "baby", but really sophisticated and sets a gorgeous framework for all of the fun little moments to come.

Geometric Portraits

I have been a huge fan of the illustration work of Siggi Eggertson for some time now, she has a great sense of color and composition. These geometric portraits are a fresh and modern take on the traditional portrait. Absolutely stunning!

DIY

You all know about the amazing hand painted cake toppers by Goose Grease. But did you know that she sells kits and you can paint your own with your own chosen colors? What a great idea!

I love Rodney Smith's photos; so modern, yet timeless, all while capturing the perfect balance of color and poise.

On a side note, how amazing were the Oscars last night? Hugh Jackman was fantastic and I loved the Slumdog sweep!!!

Love!

Have you seen this most adorable and creative proposal story on Smitten? As this couple walked over the Brooklyn Bridge, strangers would hand the woman pink balloons with love notes about why her boyfriend loved her and why he wanted to marry her. Read more details on Smitten! It has to be the most creatively brilliant engagement story to date! Pink balloons, Brooklyn Bridge, it doesn't get much better than that!

I am taking the rest of the week off, today is my birthday and I am trying to pamper myself and do some baby stuff. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!!!
